tryptic
Relating to digestion
Tryptic means relating to or produced by trypsin, a digestive enzyme that breaks down proteins in the small intestine.
In biochemistry, tryptic digestion is a standard technique for cleaving proteins into smaller peptide fragments for analysis: tryptic peptides, tryptic cleavage.
Not to be confused with triptych, a three-paneled artwork.
