trusted device
Recognized login hardware
A trusted device is a phone, computer, or other hardware that has been verified and authorized to access secure accounts or systems without requiring full authentication each time.
When you log in from an unfamiliar device, services often ask for additional verification, but a trusted device bypasses some of these steps: I added my laptop as a trusted device so I don't need a code every time.
The designation assumes the device remains in the owner's possession.
