transmissive

Allowing light passage

Transmissive describes something that allows passage through it, especially of light, energy, or signals.

A transmissive screen lets light pass from behind rather than reflecting it.

The term appears in technical contexts—optics, electronics, medicine—wherever the capacity to transmit rather than block or absorb matters: transmissive LCD displays, transmissive properties of the material.
