tongue slip
Accidental word swap
A tongue slip is a verbal mistake where you say something other than what you intended—substituting a wrong word, transposing sounds, or blending two phrases together: I meant to say "pass the salt" but it came out "sass the palt".
The term is interchangeable with slip of the tongue, though that phrase is more common.
