toadlets
Baby hopping crooners
Toadlets are very young toads that have recently completed metamorphosis from tadpoles.
At this stage they retain their tails briefly while developing legs, appearing as miniature versions of adult toads: Thousands of toadlets emerged from the pond after the spring rains.
The term also applies to several species of small frogs in the family Myobatrachidae.
