terminal velocities
Peak falling speeds
Terminal velocities is the plural of terminal velocity, the maximum speed a falling object reaches when air resistance balances gravitational pull.
At this point, acceleration stops and the object falls at a constant rate.
A skydiver's terminal velocity differs from a raindrop's: The skydivers reached their terminal velocities before deploying chutes.
