ten-bagger
Investment multiplied tenfold
A ten-bagger is an investment that increases to ten times its original value.
The term comes from baseball, where a bagger refers to a base hit—a ten-bagger would be an impossible ten-base hit, suggesting extraordinary success.
Coined by investor Peter Lynch, it's used in finance to describe stocks or assets with exceptional returns: Amazon was a ten-bagger for early investors.
Sometimes used loosely for any major windfall.
