teen mom
Adolescent with child
A teen mom is a mother who gave birth during her teenage years, typically before age twenty.
The term carries complicated connotations—sometimes neutral description, sometimes implicit judgment about early parenthood.
The MTV reality series *Teen Mom* popularized the phrase: She became a teen mom at sixteen but finished college anyway.
