taskbars
Window management strips
A taskbar is a strip along the edge of a computer screen—usually the bottom—that displays open programs, system notifications, and quick-access icons.
Windows popularized the feature, making it central to desktop navigation: I pinned the browser to my taskbar.
Most operating systems now include some version.
