tail lamps
Car's back lights
Tail lamps are the red lights at the rear of a vehicle, visible when the headlights are on.
They signal a vehicle's presence to drivers behind, especially at night or in low visibility.
The term is interchangeable with taillights, though tail lamps sounds slightly more formal or technical: The tail lamps on that old Cadillac still work.
