switch hit
Bat both sides
A switch hit is a batting stroke in cricket where the batsman reverses stance and grip mid-delivery to play the ball from the opposite side—a right-hander suddenly batting left-handed, or vice versa.
The move is legal but risky, designed to confuse field placements: He played an audacious switch hit over cover for six.
In baseball, switch-hitting means a batter can hit from either side of the plate, though they choose before the pitch rather than during it.
