street signage
Urban directional displays
Street signage refers collectively to the signs displayed in public spaces—traffic signs, directional markers, street names, parking regulations, and commercial signs visible from the road.
Urban planners and municipal codes regulate street signage for safety and aesthetics: The city passed new ordinances limiting street signage in the historic district.
The term treats signs as a category rather than individual objects.
