storebought

Not homemade goods

Storebought describes something purchased from a store rather than made at home: storebought cookies, storebought costumes.

The word often carries a faint note of inferiority—homemade is presumed better, more authentic, made with care.

But it can also signal convenience or reliability: Sometimes storebought pie crust is just fine.

Also spelled store-bought.
