stop sign runner
Ignored octagonal warning
A stop sign runner is a driver who fails to come to a complete stop at a stop sign, either rolling through or ignoring it entirely.
The term appears most often in traffic enforcement and neighborhood safety discussions: A stop sign runner nearly hit my kid in the crosswalk.
Also called a rolling stop or California stop when the vehicle slows but doesn't fully stop.
