stolen shot

A stolen shot is a photograph taken without the subject's knowledge or consent, capturing them in an unposed, candid moment.

The term is especially common in Filipino English and social media contexts, where it often describes secretly photographing a crush or attractive stranger: She caught him taking a stolen shot of her at the café.

The practice ranges from affectionate to creepy depending on context and intent.
