stock rotation
First-in, first-out
Stock rotation is the practice of arranging inventory so older items get used or sold before newer ones, preventing spoilage or obsolescence.
In retail and food service, it typically means moving older stock to the front of shelves and placing fresh deliveries behind: The manager trained new employees on proper stock rotation.
Also called FIFO—first in, first out.
