stable condition
Holding steady medically
A stable condition is a medical status indicating a patient's vital signs are steady and not deteriorating.
Hospital staff use the term when updating families or media: The patient remains in stable condition after surgery.
Stable doesn't mean good—someone can be stable but critically ill, just not actively worsening.
