spriggans
Cornish fairy creatures
Spriggans are mischievous fairy creatures from Cornish folklore, traditionally depicted as small, ugly beings who guard ruins and buried treasure.
They were said to be able to inflate themselves to enormous size when threatened.
In modern fantasy games and fiction, spriggans often appear as nature spirits or tree guardians: The spriggans attacked anyone who damaged the forest.
