spotted dog
Polka-dotted pup breed
Spotted dog is a British steamed pudding studded with raisins or currants—the dark fruit creating the "spots" in pale suet dough.
The dish appears in traditional English cookery and period literature.
Spotted dog also refers informally to a Dalmatian, the white dog breed marked with black or liver spots.
