spoiler tag
Hides plot details
A spoiler tag is a formatting feature on websites and forums that hides text until deliberately revealed, protecting readers from unwanted plot details or surprises.
The hidden content typically appears as a black bar or collapsed section that users click to expand: I put my theory about the ending behind a spoiler tag.
The convention emerged from online discussion communities where members wanted to discuss films, books, or games without ruining them for others.
