spin drying

Whirling moisture out

Spin drying is a method of removing water from wet items—typically laundry—by rotating them at high speed so centrifugal force pushes the water outward and away.

Most washing machines include a spin cycle that partially dries clothes before they go into a dryer or onto a line: The spin drying takes about five minutes.
