speak for oneself
State individual views
To speak for oneself is to express only one's own opinion, not claiming to represent others: I can't speak for my colleagues, but I think it's a bad idea.
The imperative speak for yourself is a mild rebuke when someone presumes shared views: "Nobody likes that band anymore." "Speak for yourself—I still listen to them."
