soul brother
Deep connection friend
Soul brother is a term of solidarity among Black men, expressing shared identity, culture, and experience.
It emerged from African American communities in the 1960s alongside the broader soul movement.
More loosely, it can mean any man with whom one feels deep kinship or connection: He's not just my friend—he's my soul brother.
