soft keyboard
On-screen typing interface
A soft keyboard is a virtual keyboard displayed on a touchscreen, used instead of physical keys.
You tap the screen where letters appear rather than pressing mechanical buttons.
Smartphones and tablets rely on soft keyboards: The soft keyboard pops up when you tap a text field.
