social smile
Intentional friendly expression
A social smile is a smile given in response to another person, especially the first such smile a baby produces—typically around six to eight weeks of age.
Developmental psychologists distinguish this from earlier reflexive smiles, seeing it as a milestone in social and emotional development: The pediatrician asked if the baby had started social smiling yet.
