sniffy
Turning one's nose
Sniffy describes a disdainful or contemptuous attitude, as if one is literally turning up the nose at something beneath them.
Someone sniffy about a restaurant finds it not good enough for their tastes: Critics were sniffy about the sequel.
The word is more common in British than American English.
