snap-decision
Spur-of-the-moment call
A snap-decision is one made quickly, without deliberation or careful analysis—often under pressure or time constraints.
The term usually implies impulsiveness, though snap decisions aren't necessarily wrong: It was a snap-decision to swerve, but it saved our lives.
Sometimes hyphenated as a modifier: a snap-decision hire.
