slow blink
Cat's trust signal
A slow blink is a deliberate, exaggerated closing and opening of the eyes, typically directed at a cat.
Cats use slow blinks as a signal of trust and affection, and humans mimic the gesture to communicate friendliness back: I slow-blinked at the cat and she slow-blinked back.
The term has spread to describe any knowing, affectionate look between beings who understand each other.
