sleepaway
Away from home
Sleepaway describes a camp or program where children stay overnight for an extended period, typically a week or more, rather than returning home each day.
It functions almost exclusively as an attributive adjective modifying camp: She spent every summer at sleepaway camp in the Catskills.
The term distinguishes residential programs from day camps, where participants go home each evening.
