silver tongues
Gifted with eloquence
Silver tongues are people gifted with persuasive, eloquent speech—those who can talk others into almost anything.
The phrase comes from *silver-tongued*, describing someone whose words seem to flow like precious metal: smooth, valuable, and hard to resist.
The silver tongues in the sales department could sell ice to polar bears.
The term often carries a hint of suspicion, suggesting charm that might be manipulative.
