silly walks
Exaggerated leg movements
Silly walks are exaggerated, absurd gaits performed for comic effect—knees lifted impossibly high, legs flailing at odd angles, bodies contorting mid-stride.
The term comes from the Monty Python sketch "The Ministry of Silly Walks," where a British government department funds the development of increasingly ridiculous ways of walking.
The phrase now describes any deliberately absurd locomotion: He did a silly walk across the parking lot to make his kids laugh.
