side-by-side view
Adjacent visual display
A side-by-side view displays two things adjacent to each other for comparison.
The term appears frequently in computing and document editing, where you might view two versions of a file or two windows simultaneously: The side-by-side view shows the original and edited drafts together.
The format facilitates spotting differences that sequential viewing might miss.
