secondary tumor
Cancer's distant colony
A secondary tumor is a cancerous growth that has spread from its original site to another part of the body, also called a metastasis.
The primary tumor is where the cancer started; secondary tumors form when cancer cells travel through the bloodstream or lymphatic system to establish new growths elsewhere: The lung cancer had produced secondary tumors in her brain and liver.
