salary gap
Compensation disparity between workers
A salary gap is the difference in pay between groups—typically comparing what men and women earn for similar work, or what different racial groups are paid.
The term usually implies the disparity is unfair or discriminatory: The salary gap between male and female engineers persists even when controlling for experience.
Also called pay gap or wage gap.
