safety cards
Seatback survival guides
Safety cards are the laminated instruction sheets found in airplane seat pockets, illustrating emergency procedures through wordless diagrams—how to fasten seatbelts, locate exits, assume brace positions, and use oxygen masks and flotation devices.
Their simple pictographic style has become iconic: The safety card shows a stick figure sliding down an inflatable chute with an expression of unlikely calm.
