Sprint before everyone
Run ahead means to move forward faster than others in a group, arriving at a destination before them: The kids ran ahead to the playground.
It extends to doing something in advance or before the expected time: Don't run ahead of the lesson.
To run ahead of oneself is to act prematurely or get ahead of one's own plans.
