remote voting
Casting ballots distantly
Remote voting is casting a ballot from somewhere other than an official polling place—by mail, online, or through electronic systems.
It allows participation without physical presence: Many states expanded remote voting options during the pandemic.
The term also applies to legislative bodies when members vote from outside the chamber.
