remissive
Inclined to forgive
Remissive describes something that grants remission or forgiveness, or that has a relaxing, slackening quality.
The word appears in theological contexts for acts that absolve sin, and in medical contexts for treatments that reduce symptoms: remissive therapy for chronic conditions.
Rare in contemporary usage, it survives mostly in formal or technical writing.
