remailing

Sending mail again

Remailing is forwarding mail through an intermediary location, often to obscure the sender's origin or to take advantage of cheaper postage rates.

A remailing service receives letters and resends them from a different address: The company used remailing to make their marketing materials appear local.

In computing, anonymous remailers strip identifying information from emails before forwarding them, providing privacy or enabling whistleblowing.
