referee decision
Umpire's final judgment
A referee decision is a ruling made by an official during a sporting event, determining how play proceeds after a disputed action or infraction.
The term often appears in contexts where outcomes are contested: The referee decision to award a penalty changed the match.
In boxing and mixed martial arts, a referee decision specifically means the official stopped the fight, distinguishing it from a knockout or judges' scorecard.
