red hands

Red hands is a children's game where one player holds their hands out, palms down, while the other places their palms underneath.

The bottom player tries to slap the top of the opponent's hands before they can pull away.

Also called slaps or hot hands.

Separately, to be caught red-handed is to be caught in the act of wrongdoing—the image being of a murderer or poacher with blood still on their hands.
