pulling through
Making it somehow
Pulling through means surviving or recovering from a difficult situation, especially illness or crisis.
The image is of being dragged through a narrow passage to safety on the other side: The doctors weren't sure she'd make it, but she pulled through.
It can also describe helping someone else survive: His family pulled him through the worst of it.
