proud of you
Beaming with admiration
Proud of you expresses approval and admiration for someone's accomplishment or growth.
Unlike simply being proud *of* something abstract, this phrase is directed at a person, often marking a milestone or hard-won achievement: I know that was difficult—I'm so proud of you.
It carries warmth and emotional investment, commonly said by parents, mentors, or close friends.
The phrase can also be used sarcastically when someone does something trivially competent.
