progressivity
Steepening by income
Progressivity describes the degree to which something increases proportionally as a base amount grows.
The term appears most often in tax policy, where a progressive tax takes a higher percentage from higher incomes: The progressivity of the income tax ensures that the wealthy pay more.
The concept extends to any system where rates or effects scale upward with size or intensity.
