production run
Factory output cycle
A production run is the quantity of items manufactured in a single continuous operation before switching to a different product or shutting down: The factory completed a production run of 50,000 units.
The term also refers to the manufacturing process itself: We'll start the production run next Monday.
Short runs produce limited quantities; long runs achieve economies of scale.
