precomputation
Computing results beforehand
Precomputation is calculating results in advance so they're available when needed, trading storage space for speed.
A program might precompute values that would be expensive to generate on demand: The game precomputes lighting effects during loading.
The strategy appears throughout computing wherever the same calculations would otherwise repeat.
