precisionist

Stickler for exactness

A precisionist is someone who insists on exactness and accuracy, often to a degree others find excessive.

The term applies to craftspeople, editors, or anyone who refuses to tolerate imprecision: She was a precisionist about grammar who couldn't let a misplaced comma pass.

In art history, Precisionism was a 1920s American movement emphasizing clean lines and geometric forms in industrial subjects.
