precatory
Having to do with prayer
Precatory describes language that expresses a wish or recommendation rather than a binding command.
The term appears almost exclusively in legal contexts, distinguishing words that merely hope or request from those that create enforceable obligations: The court found the precatory language insufficient to establish a trust.
A will saying "I wish my daughter to have the piano" is precatory; "I give my daughter the piano" is not.
