polar day
Arctic endless daylight
Polar day is a period when the sun remains continuously above the horizon for at least 24 hours, occurring in regions within the Arctic and Antarctic circles during their respective summers.
The phenomenon results from Earth's axial tilt.
At the poles themselves, polar day lasts roughly six months.
Also called midnight sun.
The opposite phenomenon is polar night.
