pixel-hunting
Cursor sweeping desperately
Pixel-hunting is tediously searching a screen for small, hard-to-find clickable elements—originally in adventure games where progress required clicking on obscure objects hidden in detailed backgrounds.
The term now extends to any frustrating interface requiring precise clicking on tiny targets: I spent ten minutes pixel-hunting for the close button on that ad.
